Description

// As part of the Vivier's Winter Season 2021 :

The voice will be highlighted in this concert where the Paramirabo Ensemble revisits compositions by Philippe Leroux and explores the works of Zosha Di Castri and James O’Callaghan. The Paramirabo Ensemble presents Voix (Rex) by Philippe Leroux, composed at IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique / Musique) for soprano, six instruments and electronics. This will be the première of a version for baritone with singer Vincent Ranallo. "This masterful score of about twenty minutes is full of inventions in timbre, space and energy" (Le Monde). The voice is at the centre of a computer system which, in real time, augments sounds or triggers prerecorded sequences of certain elements (singing, phonemes, noises) taken from a poetic text by Lin Delpierre. In the Canadian creation of Zosha Di Castri's Phonograph, the vocal part makes reference to recordings of the past and the wonders they inspire. Finally, in Alone and unalone, James O’Callaghan examines the relationship between individual and collective experiences in musical perception by simultaneously combining the classic presentation of acoustic and electroacoustic sounds with personalized listening through headphones. This concert is produced in collaboration with the CIRMMT and the Ircam Hors les Murs Forum (Outside the Walls Forum) - Montreal 2021.
