Ivana Jokic

Biography

Ivana Jokic is a Serbian-Canadian composer and pianist. She holds a MMus in Composition from the University of Victoria and a BMus in Composition from Wilfrid Laurier University.

She participated actively as a composer in various festivals around the world which includes the Arraymusic Young Composers Workshop in Toronto, Ontario, SALT New Music Festival in Victoria BC, Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival in North Adams Massachusetts, Upbeat Summer School in Milna Croatia and as a pianist in the Traditional Summer Session at the Adamant Music School in Adamant, Vermont. In August 2013, she was the pianist for the world premiere of a brand new musical, Broadway Musical: The Broadway Musical by Ann Hascalovitz, a student at Wilfrid Laurier University.

She also got the opportunity to co-produce music for the production of Margaret Atwood’s play The Penelopiad for the Langham Court Theatre’s spring 2014 season in Victoria, BC. Aside from composing and performing, Ivana also teaches piano at her home studio in Kitchener and at the Evergreen Seniors Community Centre in Guelph Ontario.
