Biographie

My name is Sebastian Hutchings, a composer and artist living in the Canadian Rockies. My interests and creative pursuits have many forking paths and this website is a place to gather them together. Though my artistic practices are rooted in traditional processes, I look for new ways to tell stories and new containers to present them in. The natural world provides an important source of inspiration and place of reflection for me. As a result of this, I am keenly sensitive to the receptions of our physical senses, and believe the textures and qualities of acoustic instruments, physical spaces, natural materials, and personal experiences remain critical to our human lives, even in the face of an ever more technological and synthetic world.
