Biography

David Storen is a Canadian award-winning composer and multi-media artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. His work as a composer is highly influenced by the visual arts and a continual search for ways to integrate them into his practice.  David is a recipient of 3 prizes in the SOCAN Foundation’s Awards for Young Composers, as well as receiving support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada for his research project on the augmentation of musical performance through the creation of an immersive audio/visual environment (2015/16). His music has been performed across Canada by ensembles such as FAWN Chamber Creative, Standing Wave, Ensemble Paramirabo, Erato Ensemble, and the Nu:BC Collective, among others.  

David is a co-founder, performer, and visual artist of experimental mixed-media ensemble, Chroma.
