Built around Philip Glass’s 2018 piano quintet, this gala concert offers a panorama of the evolution of music in the United States over the past century. From the intricate counterpoint of Copland, we move through Eastman’s deconstruction of form and the intimate refinement of Caroline Shaw, culminating in the great master Philip Glass. It is also a wonderful opportunity for our nine musicians-in-residence to come together for a moment of sharing and friendship.
